For architects, builders & developers

A designer on the job,
not on the payroll.

Freelance interior design for practices across Hampshire, West Sussex and Surrey — colour and finishes schedules, FF&E specification and client-facing presentation boards, issued under your name or alongside it.

The interior is the part your client asks about most — and the part that can undo the drawings.

Finishes get decided late, under pressure, by a client with a paint chart and a Pinterest board. The proportions you drew survive; the scheme does not.

I take that work off your desk and resolve it properly — early enough to inform the joinery and the lighting, specified tightly enough to issue, and presented so the client can actually decide. You keep the relationship and the design intent.

What I take on

Typical basis

01

Colour & finishes schedules

Room by room, spec-ready, issued as a PDF schedule with physical samples boxed for the client.

Fixed fee

02

FF&E specification & sourcing

Furniture, lighting, ironmongery, fabric and window treatments — with lead times and trade pricing against each line.

Fixed fee

03

Space planning & furniture layouts

Layouts that prove the plan works before it is built — circulation, sightlines, and what genuinely fits.

Day rate

04

Client presentation boards

The thing clients actually decide from. Fewer revisions, faster sign-off, less of your time spent re-explaining.

Day rate

05

Sample boards & material libraries

Physical boards the client can hold, labelled and cross-referenced to the schedule.

Fixed fee

06

Site visits & final styling

On site through fit-out, then styled for handover and photography — so the job photographs the way you designed it.

Three ways to engage

However it suits the client relationship

White label

Under your name

Everything is issued as the output of your practice. Your client never needs to know I was involved, and I do not appear in meetings or on emails.

Alongside you

As your interiors consultant

Introduced as part of your team, in the meetings that need me, on the emails that need me — and nowhere else.

Referred on

Handed over cleanly

You step back after the build. I take the interior, keep you updated, and credit the practice in anything published.

Commercial

Priced so you can put me in a fee proposal

No percentage of spend, no mark-up on sourcing. Trade discounts are passed to the client.

Day rate [DAY RATE] Minimum half-day. Travel included within [RADIUS].
Fixed fee By scope Quoted against your drawings and schedule of works.
Retainer [DAYS]/mo For practices with steady residential flow.

The questions practices actually ask

Do you deal with my client directly?

Only if you want me to. Under white label I do not appear at all — you issue the work and I stay behind it.

What if the client sources elsewhere?

Expected, and fine. Schedules are written so lines can be substituted on like-for-like without unpicking the whole scheme.

How much notice do you need?

Typically [LEAD TIME]. Short pieces of work — a finishes schedule, a set of boards — can usually be fitted in sooner.

Are you insured?

Yes — [COVER LEVEL] of professional indemnity cover through [INSURER]. Certificates available on request.

Send me the drawings.

Twenty minutes with the plans in front of us is usually enough to tell you what the interior involves, what it costs and when I could start.
